roasted blackberry jalapeño jam

I love spicy jam!! Let me shout it! Alright, if you are not into a spice, feel free to leave out the jalapeños. And if you like a little kick, drop it down to one.

 

ingredients

  • 14 oz blackberries, roughly chopped

  • 2 jalapeños, thinly sliced

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

steps

  • Preheat oven to 350

  • Mix all the ingredients. Toss the blackberries, jalapeños, sugar, and extract.

  • Bake for 30 minutes. Place ingredients on a quarter baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Stir once during the bake.

    • Pro tip: I like a quarter baking sheet because it doesn’t burn the ingredients.

  • Optional step for those who prefer a smooth jam: After you let the jam cool, toss into a food processor and blend for a couple minutes.

  • Optional step for those who prefer seedless. After you blend the jam in a food processor, run through a strainer.
