plum blueberry basil jam

I love making jam out of whatever fresh fruit we have around. I recommend this one with a bit of a savory side!

 

ingredients

  • 20-24oz blueberries (blueberries are sold in either 6 oz or 10 oz containers)

  • 1 lb plums

  • 1 cup basil leaves

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

steps

  • Preheat oven to 350

  • Mix all the ingredients. Toss the blueberries, plums, basil, sugar, and extract.

  • Bake for 30 minutes. Place ingredients on a half baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Stir once during the bake.

  • Optional step for those who prefer a smooth jam: After you let the jam cool, toss into a food processor and blend for a couple minutes.

  • Optional step for those who prefer seedless. After you blend the jam in a food processor, run through a strainer.
