humboldt fog cheese toast with berries and petite basil

 

I am a huge fan of toast. Not to mention Humboldt fog cheese is definitely my favorite cheese. Add in berries, and its a good morning! This one is as easy as one - two- three!

 

ingredients

  • a slice of sourdough

  • your best salted butter

  • 2 ounces humboldt fog cheese

  • 2 strawberries

  • 4 blackberries

  • 15 leaves of petite basil, or your favorite micro green

 

steps

  1. toast. lather your slice of sourdough with as much butter as you wish and toast to your liking.

  2. berry time. While your toaster is running, slice your berries. I sliced my strawberries, but kept them together so I could fan them out on my toast. In between the stripes of strawberries I layered in crumbled cheese and blackberries.

  3. top with petite basil or your favorite micro green

Would I make this again?

Yes. However, I find toast to be one of those breakfasts that I use whatever I have on hand.
